Protesters demanding an end to police brutality, particularly by now-scrapped operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), on Friday, shut down Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The protesters converged at the popular Ikorodu roundabout around 8am and blocked the area for hours, leaving commuters and motorists stranded before proceeding to Ogolonto area, where they grounded traffic from and to Ikorodu, and those heading towards town from the Ebute area of the town.
They chanted #EndSARS and danced to songs played occasionally through loudspeakers used to address them on the purpose of the movement.
They also demanded good governance in the country, as well as affordable electricity tariffs for all Nigerians.
