Cairo Ojougboh, Southeast national vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged a Mexican drug lord has been hired to kill him. Ojougboh however did not mention who hired the said assassin, Carlos Cabal. He claimed to have petitioned the authorities of the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, German government and the Nigerian Immigration Service, among others, about the assassination plot.
“I have instructed my lawyers to forward petitions to the Government of the United Arab Emirates over the scam (allegedly) being perpetrated by Eagle Hills”, he stated.
“The petition should also be sent to the Nigerian Immigration Service over the activities of a notorious Mexican drug baron called Carlos Cabal that has been given the task to assassinate me; the European Union and the Government of Germany over the activities of Berger the Billfinger in Nigeria and African Human Rights Commission in The Gambia.”
Ojougboh also called on Nigeria’s inspector-general of police, Solomon Arase, to “comprehensively investigate the murder allegations.”
Ojougboh urged the PDP leadership to “ignore the ranting of this mass of protoplasm but to join hands together in building a strong, united and virile party for the upcoming elections.”
Ojougboh has been battling former secretary to the government of the federation, Pius Anyim, who he accused of duping the federal government into allocating a swathe parcel of land for the construction of a centenary city. He claimed the centenary city, which former president Goodluck Jonathan, did a ground-breaking on was actually Anyim’s personal project. Ojougboh told journalists last Tuesday at a briefing that the proposed city located along the Airport Road in Abuja, equals the size of Maitama, Asokoro and Guzape Districts put together.
Ojougboh alleged that the fraud involved in the project was about N1.2bn and that the Federal Government was also going to lose about $4b from the project. He however exonerated Jonathan from the fraud, saying Anyim hoodwinked the latter into approving the project.
