The police have arrested a former soldier responsible for the recruitment and training of operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the military arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Lauretta Onochie, a media side to President Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed this in a tweet on Monday.
According to her, the ex-soldier is referred to as ‘Chief Of Army Staff’ by ESN members.
However, Onochie did not disclose where the arrest was made.
“Police has arrested an ex-soldier who is “Chief Of Army Staff” and who recruits and trains IPOB terrorists. He is responsible for training and recruiting people into the ESN, the military arm of the outlawed pro-Biafra Terrorist group, IPOB”, she wrote.
Security operatives have been on the offensive against ESN members, following increased attacks on security formations in the South-east and South-south regions of the country by the group.
