The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two fathers for allegedly raping their daughters in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Bala Elkana, the command’s Public Relations Officer, on Sunday.
According to the police, Eke Kanu, one of the fathers, was arrested following a complaint from a female lawyer at the Ikorodu Police Station.
The statement reported the victim as saying that her 61-year-old father has been engaging in the act since she was a child and threatened to deal with her if she tells anyone.
She added that when Kanu discovered that she was pregnant, he took her to a chemist where she was administered some drugs and injection to abort the pregnancy.
The police said the victim has been taken to a medical centre for treatment and forensic examination, while the suspect has been detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
In the same vein, the command also announced the arrest of one Chibuike Kalu.
It disclosed that the Bariga Police Station received a report on Friday that the 33-year-old suspect had defiled his 14-year-old daughter.
The command stated that Kalu confessed to the crime, and that the victim has been taken to a medical centre for treatment and forensic examination.
