The Lagos State Police Command have collected two children from Uzoamaka Ohiri, the ex-wife of comedian Chinedu Ani, a.k.a Nedu, and handed them over to the comedian, a report has revealed.
The handover was done by policemen attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos State, according to the Punch.
This development follows an invitation to Ohiri, with reference letter CR:3000/LSX/D10/Vol.3/71, which was signed by Fayoade Adegoke, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID. Ohiri was asked to see CSP Margaret Ighodalo.
CSP Ighodalo reportedly asked Ohiri to bring two of her three children to the SCID, where they were handed over to their father, Nedu.
“Can you imagine the Police are interfering in a civil matter because Nedu is influential?
“This is nothing but oppression. Why should children be brought to SCID? Now, they have been handed over to Nedu. This is sad,” the newspaper report quoted one of Ohiri’s relatives as saying.
However, the police are yet to issue a statement on the development, while Nedu has remained silent on it.
The messy saga between the duo started when Ohiri had taken to her Instagram stories on 3 September to accuse the Wazobia FM presenter of domestic abuse a few weeks after she delivered their child by a Cesarean section.
Responding, Nedu stated that he does not encourage domestic abuse, noting that he has not physically battered his ex-wife and that he has been absolved of all claims made against him by police investigations and a court.
He then claimed that he has been the victim of domestic abuse in his annulled marriage, and posted a picture of his bruised arm and a video of someone, presumably Ohiri, trying to gain entry into his apartment forcefully as evidence of his claims.
The comedian then went ahead to publish a 2019 DNA Test result conducted in Canada which stated that he has zero probability of being the father of their eight-year-old son.
Ohiri, however, fired another salvo shortly after Nedu’s post, claiming that they are not officially divorced.
According to her, the comedian is neglecting his responsibilities as a father.
She hinted that her motive for the public call-out was to get his attention to take responsibility for their kids, claiming that she had tried reaching him through several other means.
