Police in Lagos has denied that a female corpse found in front of a shop in Ketu area of the state had its private part cut-off. Neighbours claimed the deceased woman’s private part was severed from the body before being dumped at Oniyanrin Street, Mile 12, Ketu.
Spokesman for the Lagos Police Command, Kenneth Nwosu, told the Punch that the claims were untrue. “It’s a case of sudden and unnatural death. No part of her body was cut off.”
The cause of her death unknown, the neighbours suspected the decased must have been strangled, with her private part decapitated, by ritualists. The neighbours also claimed they were snubbed by state government officials, who demanded bribes before removing the corpse.
Worried, the neighbours fear the already decamping corpse might implode and cause health hazard in the community. The deceased relatives not known, residents stated that she lived in a shop within the area.
