Yinka Odumakin, National Secretary of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has said the police have arrested the killers of Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of the organisation.

He said this in a statement on Monday. He said men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Ondo State Police Command arrested the men, as well as Olakunrin’s driver.
He added that of the four suspects, three are northerners.

“We commend the dedicated officers who made the arrest just as we wait for a thorough investigation to follow.
“We have resolved to encourage the police to do their job properly.

“We appreciate all Nigerians who have encouraged our 94-year-old leader in this troubling season. It is our prayer that criminals will not go unpunished again in our country,” the statement read in part.

The Punch reports that Te-Leo Ikoro, the spokesman of the state police command, could not confirm the arrest.
Olakunrin was shot dead by suspected herdsmen on the Ore-Sagamu Expressway in July, 2019.
