The Nigeria Police Force have said 31 persons have been arrested for armed robbery and kidnapping for ransom along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
Jimoh Moshood, Force Public Relations Officer, said this while parading the suspects at the Katari Police Station located on the outskirts of Kaduna State. The suspects comprise five different groups who belong to one cartel. It is believed that deployment of special police teams to the crime-infested highway by the Inspector-general of police aided the arrests of the criminals in various locations in the state.
Moshood said the police would continue to be proactive, while assuring travellers of 24-hour police surveillance and patrol on the highway.
