The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, has stated that the passenger’s claims that soldiers in uniform kidnapped him and other Lagosians around Lekki axis of the state are untrue.
Making this disclosure in a tweet on Friday, Hundeyin said that a preliminary investigation shows that every claim made in the video was false.
“Preliminary investigations so far reveal that every claim in the video is false. While investigation is ongoing, we encourage the man to show up to assist the Police with the investigation,” Hundeyin wrote.
A Lagosian in a viral video that made rounds on Thursday narrated his ordeal at the hands of suspected kidnappers, he claimed that he and other passengers were abducted in Lekki area of Lagos state .
The victim alleged that he boarded a commercial bus to the Iyana-Oworo area of the state, but found during the journey that he had fallen into the hands of suspected kidnappers.
Responding to the charges, Hundeyin assured Lagosians of their safety, saying the police were on top of the situation.
However, in the most recent development, Hundeyin refuted the commuter’s claims, asking him to visit the state command headquarters for further investigation.
