A Ghanaian policeman Felix Osei Bonsu has raped a primary five student, a Magistrates’ Court heard. The police constable reportedly encountered the 16-year-old girl and her boy walking towards a forest. He ordered them to stop, but the boy fled. The girl told Bonsu she was heading to the forest to excrete and the boy, his escort. Bonsu didn’t believe her because he had a suspicion they were secretly going to have sex.
The policeman demanded sex from the girl before he would let her go, but she fled to a nearby school compound.
A security man in the school the girl took refuge in begged Bonsu to let go, but he refused.
“So at the end of the day it is alleged that our constable had sex with the female pupil,” Police prosecutor ASP Griba said.
“We will treat it like any citizen who has gone against the law.
“We have no cover for anybody …the case is still under investigation and the court will determine the way forward,” Girba stated.
