Tunde Bakare, General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, has thrown a jibe at Bola Tinubu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Bakare allegedly referred to the APC leader as being among thieves who stole public funds and now want to rule the country in 2023.
He reportedly said this during a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, over the race for 2023.
According to reports, Bakare who was Buhari’s running mate on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the 2011 presidential election, refused to speak on the outcome of his meeting with the president, when approached by State House correspondents.
Bakare has never hidden his ambition to run for the presidency, despite being ignored by Buhari to be his running mate again in 2015.
“You can’t drive now anymore because what is meant for road has been stolen since democracy began, they (politicians) are living larger than life having jets here, having jets there, having house in Bourdillon, having house in this place, having house in that place, having house in every place at the expense of the public,” Bakare said.
“I see the race to 2023, congratulations Presidential ‘hope-fools’. You cannot, you have stolen what belong to all.”
