Prince Harry has refused to sign a prenuptial agreement prior to his wedding to fiancée Meghan Markle in May this year.

The 33-year-old royal is believed to have been advised by close friends to sign the legal agreement to protect his £30 million fortune, which includes any property he owns, if the couple are to divorce in the future.

Prince William’s brother was advised to sign the contract as former Suits actress divorced her first husband Trevor Engelson after two years of marriage in 2013.

However, Harry is adamant he will not sign anything because he believes their relationship will have longevity and not end in divorce like her previous relationship.

A source told the Daily Mail: “There was never any question in Harry’s mind that he would sign a prenup.

“He’s determined that his marriage will be a lasting one, so there’s no need for him to sign anything.”

Not only would a prenuptial agreement protect Harry’s fortune, which includes the £10 million inheritance he received form his late mother Princess Diana when he turned 30 years old, but also the 36-year-old star’s assets.

Columnist Sophia Money-Coutts wrote:  “Both Harry and Meghan have assets to protect.

“Given divorce rates, it’s worth couples having a frank discussion about what each is bringing to the party before signing that marriage register.”

Meghan and Harry are set to walk down the aisle at St. George’s chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19, and it has been reported his four-year-old nephew Prince George and two-year-old niece Princess Charlotte will have a major role to play on his special day.

However, the couple have remained tight-lipped about the marital ceremony.
