SatGuru Maharaj Ji, self-acclaimed Living Perfect Master, has opined that public officials in the country should be made to swear with Yoruba deities such as Ogun and Sango and Ifa.

Maharaj Ji, in a statement issued over the weekend, said corrupt officials get away swearing with the Bible and Quran at inaugurations.
He said corrupt individuals who swear with the Holy books during ceremonies often escape unpunished for “mismanagement” and “fraud” that has led to the “destruction of many families and industries”.

He said: “We should include Ogun, Ifa, Sango in oath swearing in courts and inaugural ceremonies in order to avoid corruption completely, People swear with the Bible and Koran and get away unpunished for mismanagement of human and material resources, fraud and scandals that discourages the society which has led to the destruction of many families and industries”.
The spiritual leader of the One Love Family also advised the Federal Government to ban pilgrimages to Saudi Arabia and Israel, saying the exercises which have been in practice in the country for the past last 40 years have not changed the criminal mindset of Nigerians.

“Hajj Commission should be scrapped because it appears the northern businessmen are using this medium to carry moneys for social and economic development of our country to Saudi Arabia and Jerusalem.
“This has become necessary in view of the fact that for more than 40 years, we have been going there to throw stones at Satan and visiting the unsubstantiated tombs of Jesus but nothing has changed in our behavior and attitude towards one another rather, those going there have become more crooked, very hostile, bankrupt, sick and involved in all kinds of criminalities”, he stated.

He also asked President Muhammadu Buhari to make public details of how much his administration has borrowed since he assumed office and the projects they were used for.
“President Buhari should give us breakdown of how much came and what we used them for and balance.
“President Buhari should publish names and photos of those who have been caught and jailed by the EFCC/ICPC for the people to see. It will help to stop future occurrences,” he further said.
