Oby Ezekwesili, a former minister of Education, has slammed the Department of State Services (DSS) for threatening to deal with people who jeopardise Nigeria’s corporate existence, insisting that President Muhammadu Buhari is responsible for the current state of the country.
Ezekwesili said this in a Twitter post on Monday in reaction to a statement made by the DSS on Sunday with regards to the state of the country.
Peter Afunanya, the Public Relations Officer of the DSS, in a statement on Sunday warned the secret police will no longer tolerate persons it described as ‘misguided elements’ who are inciting anarchy with their utterances.
The service identified some religious and past political leaders as the instigators, although it stopped short of mentioning names.
But responding, Ezekwesili said such warning from the secret police should be directed at President Buhari, whose actions and inactions daily, she said, digs Nigeria deeper into disintegration.
She, therefore, urged the DSS to query its boss over the palpable tension gripping the country rather than threaten Nigerians.
Nobody else in Nigeria today seeks to throw Nigeria into anarchy than a President whose actions and inactions daily dig Nigeria deeper into disintegration.
DSS, please send your Boss a Query✍🏾. https://t.co/iphJf06fA6
