Leicester City coach, Claudio Ranieri and his Liverpool counterpart, Jurgen Klopp, are among ten coaches shortlisted for the 2016 Best FIFA Men’s Coach award. Ranieri guided the Foxes to a first ever Premier League win in the history of the club and also secured Champions League football for the side. Klopp, despite losing to Sevilla in the final of the UEFA Europa League final was still nominated.
Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino were also on the list. Guardiola won the Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal with Bayern Munich last season.
Luis Enrique, who won the World Coach of the Year award in 2015, took Barcelona to a domestic double and claimed the Club World Cup and Spanish Super Cup in the past year. Zinedine Zidane is nominated after winning the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup with Real Madrid, while Diego Simeonealso made the list after losing to city rivals Real in the finals of the Champions League.
Portugal’s European Championships-winning coach, Fernando Santos; France’s Didier Deschamps and Wales’ Chris Coleman were also nominated. Paris Saint Germain’s Unai Emery was also nominated.
