The Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG) on Wednesday said that it would collaborate with the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), for a successful outing of Nigerian contingents at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The church’s Director of Sports, Paul Bankole, made this known at the Redemption Camp. He said that a summit for the actualisation of the objective has been scheduled for 7 December. He said that the summit’s theme is, “Role of the Church, Corporate Organisations, Media, and Government towards the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.” The director said that the summit would focus on maximising the potential of Nigerian youths, teenagers and children.
He said that God spoke through Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the RCCG ‘s General Overseer at the April 2014 special Holy Ghost Congress on two issues and one was sport.
“The Lord said there are Olympic stars and a future president among the children at the congress,” he said.
He, however, added the RCCG would be focus on 10 sports specifically those that are usually performed at the Olympics. The director said that the church would strive for sponsors and partners from corporate organisations, societies and well meaning Nigerians.
