Luis Figo, a Real Madrid great, has warned Tottenham Hotspur pair, Dele Alli and Harry Kane, that playing for the Spanish giants is quite different from their North London club. He said this in response to rumour that the La Liga giants are considering buying the pair in the summer.
Kane has been a prolific goalscorer for Tottenham, having already passed 20 Premier League goals for the season, the fourth time in a row he has managed the feat, while Alli has improved tremendously since his signing from MK Dons three years ago.
But Figo, who joined Madrid from Barcelona in 2000 in a then-massive £50 million move, believes the pair must not expect to slot straight into the same vein of form if he does make the switch to the Bernabeu.
“They are very good players, top players, but one thing is to play in Tottenham and the other thing is to play in Real Madrid, no?” said Figo, speaking at the Laureus 2018 World Sports Awards.
“This is not missing respect of Tottenham. It is like what it is.
“It’s playing in Real Madrid, it’s different in terms of pressure, there is a lot of pressure too.
“Of course Kane is fantastic and Dele Alli too.
“I love to see them play and they are doing fantastic.”
Kane and Alli will feature for England at the Russia 2018 World Cup where they have been grouped with Belgium, Panama and Tunisia in Group G.
