A total of 344 students abducted from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, last Friday and released on Thursday have arrived Katsina State.
The students were escorted into the state capital by security operatives and were led to Government House, Katsina, the Katsina State capital, on Friday.
Our correspondent, who monitored live proceedings shown by one of the news channels, observed that some of the students were still clothed in their school uniforms.
According to an army commander who spoke at an event at the Government House, the students were rescued from a forest in Tsafe, Zamfara State, and slept over at Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, on Thursday, after which they were driven to Katsina on Friday.
Aminu Masari, Governor of Katsina State, addressed the students, with security personnel from the various agencies and officials of the state government in attendance.
Governor Masari assured the students that they will be properly taken care of before being handed to their parents.
He also said each of the students will undergo medical evaluation, adding that their education will also be taken care of.
