Amaju Pinnick is unsettled over the decision by Nigeria’s youths and sport minister, Solomon Dalung to review the controversies surrounding the former’s emergence as president of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF. Pinnick was challenged for the position by Christopher Giwa, who at the time, claimed to have won the NFF presidency election. Giwa was persuaded to withdraw a suit he filed against Pinnick in court, a development that also saved NFF from Fifa’s hammer. But the matter doesn’t appear to be dead after all as Dalung has invited both Pinnick and Giwa to a meeting on 20 January to resolve the differences between them. The Pinnick camp are unhappy with the minister’s decision and have alleged he was acting a script to favour Giwa. The pinnick camp alleged that Dalung and Giwa are friends and both hail from Plateau state. They added that Dalung’s special media assistant, who issued the statement on his behalf, had also performed similar role for Giwa during the NFF crisis. There has not been any reaction from the minister’s office.
