A tweet by Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari supporting the death penalty for blasphemy has surfaced on the internet.
Newsbreak.ng reports that this is coming following the tragic incident that occured at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State where a student, Deborah, was beaten and burnt alive for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Bashir Ahmad had on July 1, 2015, tweeted that he was in support of the death penalty for blasphemy when an Islamic court in Kano sentenced nine people to death for insulting the Prophet.
