Some yet-to-be identified robbers have stormed Alaafia Estate in Ibadan, Oyo State, with POS machines.

The robbers had invaded the estate located in Orogun about two weeks ago, dispossessing a senior police officer and three other residents of their belongings.
According to BBC Yoruba, the robbers numbering about 20 visited the estate again recently with POS machines and robbed residents of their valuables and ATM cards.
The thieves used the machines to withdraw money from bank accounts of residents of the area.

The invaders, who were armed with guns and other weapons, reportedly invaded the area around 11:00pm and operated till 2:00am.
They also carted away laptops and mobile phones.
The robbers were said to have gained access to the area through a route being constructed by government to connect Barika, Agbowo and Orogun communities.

The report said the robbers went away with ATM cards of some of the residents due to network failure.
They damaged properties of one of the families for not giving them prompt attention.
The Oyo State police command has confirmed the incident.
Adewale Osifeso, the command’s spokesperson, said the police received a distress call from the estate and deployed officers to the area around 3:00am.

He, however, stated that the robbers fled through the bush upon sighting the police.
Osifeso said the command has started tracking down the robbers.
