Spanish media have reported an admonition by that Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Rinaldo, to coach Zinedine Zidane, on the need to drop inconsistent Karin Benzema and injury-prone Gareth Bale to the bench for in-form Isco Alarcon and skillful youngster, Marco Asensio.
Ronaldo has not played for Real Madrid in La Liga this season, following his red card and shoving a referee from behind in the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona, which the capital club won 5-1 on aggregate.
According to reports, the Portuguese told Coach Zinedane Zidane in a conversation, to give regular playing time to upcoming youngsters in the Real team.
He argued that both Isco and Asensio have proved that they can do better than Bale and Benzema respectively if given the chance.
Isco was instrumental to Madrid’s La Liga title last season, first in the past five years for the club.
The 23-year-old former Malaga man was also key for Real when it also won the UEFA Champions League for the 12th time last season. By it, Madrid clinched a double, becoming the first club in modern era to win the cup back to back.
Marco Asensio is establishing himself as the future of Real Madrid. The 21-year-old has scored four times for Madrid this season, more than any other player at the club.
He scored twice at the Bernabeu against Valencia to earn a 2-2 draw for the defending champions on August 26, in week two of the new La Liga season.
