DC United forward, Wayne Rooney was arrested for being drunk in public and swearing in Washington last month.
The former Manchester United and England star committed the offence on December 16, 2018.
The Mirror reports that Rooney was arrested by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority for a class four misdemeanor before being released without bail.
A hearing was due to take place on January 24, 2019 but this has been waived after he paid a €25 fine with €91 costs earlier this month.
A spokesman for Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said: “He (Rooney) was booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Centre on December 16, 2018, on a charge of public intoxication stemming from an arrest by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police (MWAA).
“He was later released on a personal recognizance bond.”
In his first MLS campaign, Rooney scored 12 goals to fire DC United into the play-offs, only to miss a penalty as they bowed out at the hands of Colombus Crew in the first round.
