Governor El-Rufai stated this while in Awe, Nasarawa State, to visit the dethroned monarch, according to a statement issued by Muyiwa Adekeye, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, on Friday.
The Kaduna Governor insisted that his visit to Sanusi in Awe marked a sign of solidarity with the former monarch.
The statement noted that Governor El-Rufai “met Sanusi in high spirits, demonstrating his usual calm, poise, and regal-bearing” despite his removal four days ago.

The statement read: “His Highness seems to have taken all that happened in his stride but has reiterated his commitment to enforcing his fundamental human rights.
“Sanusi II, the 14th Fulani Emir of Kano, manifested a renewed vigour to continue serving humanity in his life long efforts to expand the frontiers of knowledge and to campaign against unworthy timid ignorance that has shackled Nigeria as a perpetual potentially great nation.”
They both departed Nasarawa State by road to Abuja, where they boarded a private aircraft to the Lagos Airport and landed shortly before midnight on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State University (LASU) has announced that Sanusi will chair the convocation lecture of the university slated for 26 March.

This was disclosed at a press conference addressed by Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, on Friday.
According to the university, the lecture entitled: “The Future of Developing Economies in a Digital World,” will be delivered by the president of African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Benedict Oramah.
Speaking on the choice of the former emir as the convocation lecture chairman, Professor Fagbohun, said the choice predated the removal of the emir. He added that the removal has also not reduced the intellectual richness of Sanusi.

Sanusi, 58, was abruptly dethroned on Monday by Abdullahi Ganduje, Governor of Kano State, for “disrespect” and “insubordination”.
The former emir was banished to Loko in Nasarawa State, in a tactic similar to that used by British imperial officials to punish rebellious leaders during the colonial period.
The move to hold him in exile sparked an outcry from human rights activists and was challenged in court by Sanusi’s lawyer.
Judge Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered that the dethroned emir be released and allowed to move about freely.
