Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, has recovered from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) after days of treatment.
This was disclosed in a Twitter post by Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, on Thursday.
In the post which was accompanied by a video, the governor was seen stepping out for what Akosile described as a press briefing at the Lagos House, Marina.
Professor Akin Abayomi, had announced on 12 December that the governor tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaking at the press briefing, Governor Sanwo-Olu explained his symptoms, noting that his case was quite serious.
“It was not mild, I was not asymptomatic, I felt all of the things you would feel – headache, sore throat, cough, tiredness, I felt it,” the governor said.
He, therefore, urged Lagosians to protect themselves and seek medical attention when they experience any of the symptoms of the virus.
