Report claims Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar, has asked that security around him be increased due to anticipated criminal trials of more politically exposed persons, PEP. The report published by TheNATION claimed Umar directed his letter to the Chief Justice of Nigeria Mahmud Mohammed, who might have referred same to the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for necessary action. The report quoted a source saying the tribunal has not faced any threat at the moment though, its likability of trying more cases against PEP necessitates the request for widened security measure. The tribunal has become relevant lately with the ongoing trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki for false assets declaration. The case was adjourned till 18 and 19 November from the date it last sat.
