Six students were said to have drowned when their boat upended on the Lagos Lagoon on Wednesday. The boat, which took off from Ojo and headed Irawe jetty, carried 14 school children. The boat accident was caused by a collision with a fibre boat.
The boat’s driver and other survivors are currently hospitalised at the Igando General Hospital.
The spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, Southwest, Ibrahim Farinloye confirmed the incident and said the body of the 6 students who drowned has not been discovered.
