Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has vowed to wipe out every act of criminality in the state following an attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s envoy.
Issuing this promise in a statement by Christian Aburime, his press secretary, Soludo revealed that security agencies were on full alert to and were working to bring the perpetrators of the condemnable act to book.
“It was reported on Sunday evening that Dr Ifeanyi Ubah narrowly escaped bullets of some gun-wielding men who attacked his convoy at Enugwu-Ukwu road in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State,” the statement read.
“The government is fully determined to wipe out every act of criminality in the state. This is the last ditched effort of a sinking boat by these criminal elements. All security agencies are now on full alert to fish out the perpetrators of this heinous attack, who will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” it added.
The Governor also expressed sympathy to the senator’s family as well as the families of his staff members and security personnel who perished in the incident.
On Sunday, unidentified gunmen attacked the senator who represents the Anambra South Senatorial Zone in the Red Chamber; he narrowly escaped death.
The incident occurred on the Enugwu-Ukwu road in Anambra State’s Njikoka Local Government Area.
