The Spanish Interior Ministry has announced that security forces have arrested two Moroccans suspected to be members of a terrorist sect that recruit fighters for the Islamic State. It also said that the suspects had contact with the terrorist group in Syria and are able to carry out attacks. The suspects, a 32-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, were arrested in Mataro near Barcelona and Canary Island of Fuerteventura respectively. The ministry accused them of circulating Islamic State propaganda material online and also sending death threats in France and Spain. It said the government had detained 100 suspected Islamists since the beginning of the year.
