A 36-year-old man, Monday Babatunde has been arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrates Court sitting in Ikoyi Lagos, for allegedly stealing three air conditioners belonging to Alpha Maintenance Facilities Company, where he works as security guard.
The accused was said to have stolen two outdoor unit of air conditioners and one indoor unit air conditioner, both valued N70, 000.
Police prosecutor, Dike Fidelis, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on November 30, 2018, at Cooper Road, located in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State. He said that the offence contravened and punishable under Sections 411 and 287 (7) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
The accused pleaded “not guilty†to the two counts charge of theft preferred against them.
Presiding magistrate, T.A. Anjorin-Ajose, however granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till January 14, 2019, for mention.
