The Senate has constituted a seven-man committee to harmonise the different versions of the recently passed Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
Senator Ahmed Lawan, the Senate President, announced the members of the committee at plenary on Tuesday.
The committee is chaired by Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), the Senate Majority Leader.
Other members of the committee are Senators Sabo Nakudu (Jigawa North East), Albert Bassey (Akwa Ibom), Danjuma Goje (Gombe), Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti Central), Stella Oduah ( Anambra), and Gabriel Suswan (Benue).
Lawan said the panel would meet with their counterparts in the House of Representatives as early as possible to reconcile the differences in the two versions passed.
The Senate President added that the harmonised version of the bill would then be transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.
The PIB was passed by both chambers of the National Assembly after over 20 years in the pipeline.
