The Senate has suspended plenary for one week ahead of the zonal public hearing on the review of the 1999 Constitution.
Senator Ahmed Lawan, the Senate President, announced this during plenary on Wednesday.
According to Lawan, the suspension will enable senators to participate in the zonal public hearing across the country.
He said: “We shall be devoting the entire week to the constitution review exercise.”
The Senate President urged Nigerians to participate fully in the exercise as the National Assembly has no pre-conceived agenda, adding that the federal legislature opened to suggestions from Nigerians on how to move the country forward.
