The Socio-Economic Right and Accountability Project (SERAP) has dragged the president Muhammadu Buhari-led government before the ECOWAS Court of Justice over the operation of illegal pipelines that have plundered Nigeria’s wealth
Making this disclosure in a tweet on Sunday, the rights group disclosed that it filed the suit against the Buhari-led government with Chief Eric Dooh, the Goi Community in Rivers State, and 15 other concerned Nigerians.
“We’ve sued the Buhari government before the ECOWAS Court of Justice over the operation of illegal pipelines and plundering of Nigeria’s wealth. The suit was filed together with Chief Eric Dooh, the Goi Community in Rivers State, and 15 other concerned Nigerians,” the group in the tweet wrote.
This development comes as security agencies and task forces continue to uncover several illegal pipelines that has been used in the past years to steal crude oil.
The rights group had on several occasions charged president Buhari’s government to investigate and prosecute those responsible for stealing the country’s resources.
However, little has been done to address the group’s call.
