Seven women have been arrested in Ondo for alleged child trafficking and prostitution by the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. They were arrested in a brothel, located on Car Street, Akure, and handed to officials of National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for investigation.
The NSCDC alleged the women trafficked a girl, Faith Ekepemephia from Akwa Ibom to Akure, in Ondo State, for prostitution.
The victim alleged she was taken from her hometown on the pretext that she would work as a maid, but taken into a hotel for prostitution.
“I cried and told them that I want to go back to my village as this was not the type of work she told me about, but she threatened me. The woman always collected the service money from me any time I meet with a man. I have made up to N6,000 and slept with more than three men since my arrival,” she said.
