Seven persons have lost their lives in a car accident on Sunday, involving Police Special Forces along the Kaduna-Zaria highway, in Kaduna State.

The cause of the accident is said to be unknown yet.

Witnesses say the crash occurred around 4.30pm, close to the Jaji Military Cantonment, when a speeding 18-seater bus carrying uniform and armed policemen somersaulted, Daily Trust reports.

Where they were coming from was not known, but they were said to be heading towards Zaria from Kaduna, when the accident occurred.

“It was a terrible accident because I counted about seven bodies of policemen in the middle of the road.

“Two were seriously injured while others survived,” Hassan, a Sharon car driver was quoted as saying.

Kaduna police command spokesperson, ASP Muhammed Jalige, said a team of policemen were deployed to the scene to find out the cause of the accident.
