The Dream Team VI arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Monday night after their bronze-winning outing at the Rio 2016 Olympics. The Samson Siasia-led side had lost to Germany in the semifinals to end their dreams of replicating the performance of Nigeria’s representatives at the Atlanta 96 Olympics where they won gold. The team defeated Honduras in the third place match to win the country’s only medal at the competition.
The Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, along with the Nigeria Football Association had promised to give the team a befitting welcome on their arrival. See pictures from the fanfare below.
