Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation, has published the names of airports across the country that have been approved to resume operations after their enforced closure following the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Sirika published the list of the approved airports in a post on his Twitter handle on Sunday.
According to the minister, 14 airports comprising the country’s four international airports and 10 domestic airports have been authorised to reopen following their inspection.
He, however, noted that they to operate only domestic flights currently.
Glad to announce that the following airports are open for full domestic operations, hence ministerial approvals in and out of them is not required. This includes private and charter operations. All airports in the country were shut by 23 March due to restricts following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 lifted the restrictions on movement and closure of airports on 29 June, but domestic flights only began on 8 July.
