Six persons have been confirmed dead in a road accident that occurred between Ore and Ondo town on Saturday.

The accident was said to have involved a commercial Volkswagen Jetta car marked REE 446 KP, and an articulated truck.
Witnesses said the truck had a break failure and rammed into the car coming from the opposition direction.
According to reports, rescuers had to use axe to cut the car into piece to be able to bring out the victims.

Ahmed Hassan, Ondo sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who confirmed the incident, said those injured in the incident were taken to the hospital.
Hassan cautioned drivers to always check their vehicles and avoid over-speeding.
