Smugglers Machete Customs Officer Inside Creek (Photo)

The Nigerian Customs Service has released horrific images of one of its officers attacked by smugglers in an unidentified creek. The pictures showed a man with deep machete cut in his upper arm lain on his back while being administered a medical aid.

The NCS said the incident happened while “officers were trying to intercept vehicles been smuggled through the creek”.

The customs wrote: “picture of a customs officer macheted by the dare devil smugglers while performing his duty. This is one of the hazard of the job, but often times not much is said about the wounded or killed operatives.”
