Snap Inc, the parent company of the disappearing-messages app, Snapchat, has said it has permanently deleted the account of Donald Trump, President of the United States, for the safety of its online community.
“Last week we announced an indefinite suspension of President Trump’s Snapchat account, and have been assessing what long term action is in the best interest of our Snapchat community. In the interest of public safety, and based on his attempts to spread misinformation, hate speech, and incite violence, which are clear violations of our guidelines, we have made the decision to permanently terminate his account,” AFP quoted the company to have said via a statement.
Snapchat has joined the league of tech companies to permanently delete Trump’s account after last week’s violent attack on Capitol Hill by protesters who were allegedly incited by the president.
