The Nigerian military says it has arrested a Boko Haram commander and rescued 178 people, comprising 101 children, 67 women and 10 men. Tukur Gusau, the spokesperson for 7 division of the Nigerian Army, said this in a statement on Sunday. Gusua stated that the arrest and rescue was a collaborative effort by troops of 21 Brigade and 151 Task Force Battalion of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army. The statement added that three Boko Haram flags and five motorcycles were burnt by the troops. The terrorists were cleared from their camps in Jidori, Alikashiri, Kalzamari-Kanuri, Ngoro Dauye, Fadan, all in Borno state.
