Abdirahman Osman, the mayor of Somali capital, Mogadishu, has died of his injuries from an al-Shabaab attack.
Osman was being treated in Qatar before he died, according to the Somali National News Agency on Thursday.
He was hit during a militant attack last week in Mogadishu, which killed at least 11 other people, including local district commissioners.
The al-Shabaab terrorist group claimed responsibility for the blast, saying its target was the UN envoy to Somalia, James Swan, who had left the building a few hours before the attack.
The terrorist group regularly launches attacks on government buildings and hotels in the volatile nation.
