Omoyele Sowore, converner of the #RevolutionNow movement, has urged Nigerians to do a cross-over protest on New Year’s Eve into 2021 as a means of demonstrating against the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for its actions in the outgoing year.

Sowore made the request in a series of posts on Twitter on Thursday.

According to the activist, who is also the publisher of Sahara Reporters, the protest is to send a message to the current administration that Nigerians will be more resolute in 2021 to challenge perceived bad government policies and actions.

He urged Nigerians to pick up a candle and display a placard from 11:30pm on Thursday and upload all pictures and videos on social media for a duration of 30 minutes.

He added that the protest will address issues such as the Lekki Toll Gate shooting, bad governance in Nigeria and oppression of Nigerian citizens.

How about a CrossOver Protest/Uprising tonight? Anyone willing to participate? Pick up a candle and a placard showing your grievances against the regime, let’s upload our short videos and photos across our SOcial Media platforms. Let’s welcome the regime to a RESOLUTE 2021!
