Ataga was found dead in a hotel on June 15 after he was allegedly stabbed to death by Chidinma Ojukwu, a 21-year-old student of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), who claimed to have been in a romantic relationship with the married man for four months before the incident.
Some Nigerians are of the opinion that the deceased got what he deserved for cheating on his wife.
However, reacting in a series of Twitter posts on Saturday, Fani-Kayode said Ataga did not deserve to die just because “he has high libido and a weakness for women”.

“Some people are now trying to rationalize his murder and justify it and they are claiming that he ‘deserved what he got! This is utterly shameful,” he partly wrote.
Boye, who identified herself as a fan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, said if even if mothers have failed, men should be alive to their responsibilities of raising their children and leading the family.
She added that men play vital roles in building a nation, family and marriage.
“Uncle Kay, Femi Fani-Kayode I have been a fan. But you made it sound, by your post on Mr. Agata’s murder, that sleeping around with these young girls is a lifestyle for our Nigerian men. Or maybe, I misinterpreted your intention,” she wrote on Facebook.

In my opinion, it isn’t easy to have a real family and nation and marriage without our men taking charge and leading the horses.
“If our women failed as mothers, should our men catalyze the rottenness.?
“I do not blame mothers for the uncultured kids; I just wanted you to know that we need our men to assume their rightful places in the homes and nations. A man who is comfortable keeping a concubine of his daughter’s age should share in the blame heavily.
