Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, has urged separatists in the southwest region not to despair.
In a statement on Friday by his spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, obtained by this reporter, Igboho said irrespective of the opposition, there’s “no going back” on his mission to actualise a sovereign Yoruba nation.
The statement was released in remembrance of the deadly invasion of his Ibadan, Oyo State residence on July 1, 2021, by Nigerian security forces.
Igboho’s statement reads in part: “I, Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho is using this medium to urge all freedom fighters on the journey of Yoruba self-determination not to relent or get tired until we get to our destination.
“I am appealing to all my mothers; fathers; sisters and brothers to join us on this self-determination journey. And also all groups should come together as one. This would make our journey much easier and achievable as soon as possible.
“I would like to assure everyone that the peaceful mega rally you have been hearing about to ask for our right to self-determination from the federal government if Nigeria would still happen. The date would be communicated to you very soon. I am emphasizing on that the mega rally would be peaceful and that our Yoruba nation matters. No going back.”
