The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations before even kicking a ball in their qualifier against Benin Republic on Saturday (today).
The Eagles qualified after Sierra Leone played a goalless draw with Lesotho in the other group fixture earlier in the day with two games to spare for the Nigerians.
The result leaves Gernot Rohr’s team with eight points — four ahead of third-placed Sierra Leone — with a game in hand.
After their game against Benin Republic at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto Novo today, the Eagles will face the Crocodiles of Lesotho on Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
