The Supreme Court, on Friday, dismissed the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the academic qualification of Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki.
The apex court ruled that the APC and one of its chieftains, Edobor Williams, failed to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The supreme court added that the APC failed to prove their case as they did not provide any disclaimer from the school that the authenticity of the certificate which they are challenging, was not issued to Obaseki by the University of Ibadan.
The court then upheld the March 18, 2021, judgment of the Court of Appeal, which had earlier affirmed the January 9 judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The high court had also said the first decree certificate in Classics issued to Obaseki by the university was authentic.
