A 32-year-old physically challenged woman in Uganda has been left stranded, after her wheelchair was stolen by suspected burglars on Tuesday.
Olivia Nakugudo, a resident of Namunsi, Afya suburb along Kabogoza Musoke road in Mbale, woke up on Wednesday morning to realise that her house had been burgled and her tricycle wheel chair stolen.
The suspected burglars also reportedly went with a dozen of Nakugudo’s belongings.
“I have no legs, that wheelchair has been me legs, my children who entirely rely on me will not get food and other necessities any more,” Nakugudo told a journalist.
Nakugudo’s sister-in-law, Zaina Nawaga, said due to the theft, she was unable go to her place of work at Kyagalanyi coffee where she gets her daily bread
Nakugudo describes her missing wheelchair as black in colour with spotted blue handles.
She appealed to whoever sees the stolen wheelchair to report to the nearby police station or a local news network.
