Snapchat down reports are on the rise today, with thousands of users of the hugely popular chat app experiencing service disruption on Wednesday.
Independent outage monitor Down Detector has recorded a massive spike in Snapchat down reports.
At the time of writing, Down Detector UK has registered a peak of more than 14,000 reports with downdetector.com recording over 30,000.
According to Down Detector stats, the issues affecting users the most are problems with the Snapchat app itself, posting content and server connection.
Snapchat users have come on Twitter to report issues with Snaps not sending.
In the immediate aftermath of the issues hitting the app, the @Snapchatsupport account was busy replying to users of the Android and iOS app that was experiencing difficulties today.
Replying to one user, the Snapchat Support Twitter wrote: “Thanks for letting us know, we’re looking into this!”
The @SnapchatSupport Twitter account later issued an official statement on the outage, saying: “We’re aware that some Snapchatters are having issues using the app right now – hang tight, we’re looking into it!”
The latest Snapchat issues come in the wake of the huge outage last week that took Facebook, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram offline for six hours.
That outage at the start of last week was the biggest outage in Facebook’s history and was followed by another Instagram outage on Friday.
Over the summer, Snapchat users saw the app experience significant downtime, with problems hitting on midnight UK time at the end of the final weekend in July and continuing into the morning when users woke up.
That outage saw a bug hit which lead to the app constantly crashing on both iPhone and Android devices.
