The Punch reports that the 17-man crew had refused to be quarantined on arrival at the Lagos airport which led to a heated exchange between them and the officials. The report said they agreed after phone calls were exchanged between the port health officials and top officials of the Ministry of Health in Abuja as well as the Lagos State Ministry of Health around 2am on Thursday.

On arriving the Scholars Lodge at the University of Lagos, they insisted that they wanted a single-user apartment for each member of the crew instead of the two-bedroom apartment meant to be shared by two persons which the state provided.

The Punch added that after the after series of arguments, which lasted about three hours, they agreed to stay at the lodge.
