Three crew members of the Air Peace plane that brought 14 Chinese medical doctors and supplies from China reportedly escaped from the quarantine centre provided by the Lagos State Government.

The crew had been quarantined at Scholars Lodge in the University of Lagos before three were discovered to have disappeared.
The Punch reports that the 17-man crew had refused to be quarantined on arrival at the Lagos airport which led to a heated exchange between them and the officials. The report said they agreed after phone calls were exchanged between the port health officials and top officials of the Ministry of Health in Abuja as well as the Lagos State Ministry of Health around 2am on Thursday.

On arriving the Scholars Lodge at the University of Lagos, they insisted that they wanted a single-user apartment for each member of the crew instead of the two-bedroom apartment meant to be shared by two persons which the state provided.
The Punch added that after the after series of arguments, which lasted about three hours, they agreed to stay at the lodge.

After a headcount was conducted at the quarantine centre, it was discovered that three crew members were missing. The reports said one had escaped at the airport while the other two disappeared from the quarantine centre.
The report however said the crew members returned to the lodge on Friday afternoon.

Tubosun Ogunbanwo, spokesperson for the state health ministry, said the state government is taking necessary action regarding the dangers the members have exposed their contacts to.
